The Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a holiday with roots in Mexico and other parts of Latin America that is traditionally celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. This holiday has gained popularity in the United States in recent years, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations.
