Filtros™ is our unique collaborative exercise with our clients that identifies the precise cultural elements for any campaign. Filtros™ begins with creating a mutually selected “art collage” of images to reflect the envisioned design direction. We do this to channel individual design subjectivities into a group consensus of visual direction.
The idea is to filter the descriptive terminology like “cultural,” “authentic,” or “contemporary” – which can be relative and can differ in meaning from person to person – and create something more overarching. Filtros™ prevents “relative term” mishaps by providing a common client/agency platform of visual understanding and definition in the form of a mutually approved collage.
Collages consist of various cultural attributes selected by the entire group. These can be elements such as colors, arts, traditions, architecture, holidays, foods, heroes, etc. These become the visual filters we use to guide creative decisions moving forward – our aesthetic “marching orders” of sorts.
If any of our concepts fail to pass the Filtros™ test, we go back to the drawing board until they do.
