An independent agency of the United States federal government executive branch is responsible for providing postal service in the United States.
The Project
In recent decades, the Day of the Dead has caught on in the United States as a festive and increasingly popular commemoration for all ages. Antonio Alcalá, an art director for the USPS, asked UNO Branding to design and illustrate the new stamps.
Services
In-culture design and illustrations.
The Solution
A single stamp would never do; family is what anchors Mexican culture. So, the solution was to create four stamps representing the father, mother, son, and daughter. Flowers are strewn around them; the bright orange marigolds are thought to guide the souls of the dead toward the offerings.
