Hmong College Prep Academy
HCPA is a charter school in St. Paul, Minnesota. HCPA is open to all students but has a large population of Hmong-American and Karen-American students.
Hmong College Prep Academy needed its environment to reflect the contemporary curriculum steeped in Hmong culture. It was also crucial that the new look for the school resonated with the families and students.
Branding, logo design, style guide, environmental graphics, character design, and mural design.
Our solution came through the traditional Hmong textile art, consisting of bright colors, patterns, embroidery, and the warrior character. Print, digital materials, and student uniforms used the same designs, art, and color schemes. We used this inspiration to create a mural on the school’s wall, immediately drawing the students into their culture.
